and the weather is reminding me just how much i love it here.

i survived my trip back yesterday. i got much help from people along the way. two dutch guys and a metro worker in paris (i did NOT get stuck in the gate this time), the security guys at the eurostar terminal, a guy at waterloo east, a kid at lewisham, and a taxi driver all helped me with my bags. (the two dutch guys carried the suitcases all the way down the stairs at the train station at charles de gaulle, since the escalator chose that day to break. i wasn't quite ready to cry about it, but was definitely ready to curse.)

the food on air france is better than on british air. and the flight attendants are more attractive. on the down side, they wouldn't know punctuality if it bit them on the ass and charles de gaulle airport is a nightmare. i don't know that i'll be flying with them again anytime soon.

oh, and i really am not safe anywhere. last night, i'm laying down, watching a movie, half asleep, and i heard BUZZING. yes, there was another hornet. flying around my lamp. fortunately, at some point it fell on the floor, whereupon smushing ensued. i'm still a bit jumpy about it though. it's JANUARY.
