zamparini opens mouth, makes things worse

dude. Dude. DUDE.
sorry, that was me reverting to jersey for a minute there. rampant stupidity with a side of racism has that effect on me sometimes. but let's examine what the self-styled lone honest man in calcio has said now.

he didn't mean to offend mutu. he was just generalizing about things all romanians do. justifying mutu's behavior, even. and mutu, being romanian, obviously reacted according to the "instinct that comes with his nationality." hey, zampa? how's about you let mutu justify his own behavior? or not, if he doesn't feel the urge? he's a big boy and i'm pretty sure he can speak for himself. maybe you should be happy he hasn't had anything to say about your comments.

also, being happy you're getting investigate by figc? inviting them to kick you out? ever heard about be careful what you wish for? cause i'm pretty sure that despite loving the attention and this matyr complex you seem to have going on, you don't actually want to be kicked out of football. or quit. can you imagine what everyone will conclude about you if you do? here's a hint. think back to your schoolyard days. i'm sure italian kids must have an insult something like "chicken" implying that someone is a cowardly quitter. and probably they also have a taunt like "what a baby" that remarks on the target's immaturity. now imagine that in every newspaper in italy. i think it would go a little like that.

edit if you understand italian, you can listen to the crazy for yourself.

now that i've looked at a calendar, what the announcer was saying on the radio when i woke up this morning makes so much more sense. he was talking about today being pi day-which in my not-quite-awake haze, i understood as pie day. this led to massive confusion on my part as to why a) pie day was an american invention and b) why on earth an englishman needed pie explained to him.

i'm not a morning person, what can i say?

for any brits/europeans who are confused as to why this is pi day and why it's an american thing, we write our dates backwards, so today is 3/14- pi day. (and einstein's birthday.) if you're european, you could also say 22/7 was pi day, although that would be more like pi approximation day, because 22/7 is greater than pi. (try it. pi is 3.1415926... and yes, i knew those digits of pi off the top of my head. thank the beaver call for that.)

talking to my dad on skype.
*godawful noise that sounds all for the world like incoming plane*
me: did you just have an a-10 go over or something?
dad: why, yes, why do ask?
me: the sound kind of gave it away.

modern technology is so awesome.
