got in last night around 1. could not sleep due to downstairs music. tried knocking on his door, as expected, no answer. called the council. music stopped a bit after 2. woke up this morning twice. first, to the sound of the trash bins being tossed around by the garbagemen. that was at 7. second time was a little before 10, to the sound of next door. next door has the music turned up rather loud. i'm thinking the music wars may commence soon.

still no package. and no answer from the merchant about how it was shipped/tracking numbers. they've gotten another disgruntled email (because they won't answer their phone.) i'm about ready to call up and yell at royal mail anyway.

my horoscope is right on target for once.
Testy? Cranky? Who, you? Just because the planet in charge of your sign just so happens to be Mars, the ancient god of war? No way. It's not that you're irritable. It's just that 'the opponents' -- those of us who happen to inhabit the extra space in your world -- are just so darned uncooperative. Don't take any guff from these intruders. Put 'em right in their place.

royal mail aren't much for customer service, are they?

you can't report something missing until after 15 working days. and then you need to know all the details about when, where, and how it was posted. apparently screenselect should have filed a complaint about the dvds, i can't do anything about that. anyway, if my package still hasn't arrived within 15 days, i'm free to call royal mail back and they'll send start investigating using "test letters." i'm not terribly confident this test letter process will solve anything. it's not LETTERS that aren't reaching me, it's packages. to the point that i'm starting to get paranoid. and until this gets sorted, i'm reluctant to sign up for another dvd rental service.

looking at this logically, since this "cluster" of disappearances is fairly large, it seems likely they're all occuring at the same point. as it's happened with items coming from various sources, that point is somewhere at my end of the delivery chain. it's also only started happening since the christmas holidays. before christmas, i had one dvd disappear, and that was on the way BACK to screenselect, not coming to me. sounds like something fishy going on at the local sorting office or someone snatching packages off the doorstep if you ask me.

anyway, i did finally get ahold of the merchant. they're sending a replacement registered mail, and i've asked that they please file a complaint with royal mail from their end. i'm almost certain the original package will never show-the dvds never did.
