mail that may or may not be passport has not arrived. royal mail tracking number is useless to do anything beyond confirm that said mail has not been delivered. this has been confirmed by an actual person on the customer service line. HOME OFFICE HAS YELLED AT ME FOR TELLING THEM THAT TRACKING NUMBER IS USELESS. home office has also told me they will not speak to me if i "get upset" whereby "upset" did not mean angry, but rather close to tears because they will not tell me if it is my passport in the mail, they will not tell me if they still have my passport, and they will not tell me how to find out if they still have my passport.

what. the. bloody. fucking. hell?

edit: called the home office again. spoke to someone far more reasonable (and pleasant) called jackie but all she can tell me is that i just have to wait for the mail to be delivered and if it hasn't come by friday to call the home office again. there's no place i can go in person. wish i'd thought to write down the name of the person i spoke to before, because i really want to be able to put that in a letter of complaint.

i got a call from jean, the department secretary. she had an envelope for me. from the home office. it went to a lecturer in the department. why? because the fucking morons did not put my name on the envelope! but it gets better. guess why my application was being returned a second time? BECAUSE I ALLEGEDLY DID NOT INCLUDE THE PAYMENT DETAILS PAGE. that would be the same payment details page that i attached to the application with multiple staples. the holes where those multiple staples were removed are clearly evident on the application.

angry does not describe this. livid doesn't even come close.
