One of our number actually said this yesterday while we were directly across the street from it. Said person shall remain nameless, but as it turned out he/she was not taking the mickey but dead serious. The building is slightly more recognizable from a distance.

I hope you enjoyed your trip up here! The past few days were chilly but gorgeous...

I had a blast! (Although, I have to say, NYC will never be one of my favorite cities.)

Excellent - what about it is not up your alley? The density, the loudness, the rudeness? Always interested to hear what works and what doesn't, especially as I come from a smaller, greener, less dense city myself.

The density and the noise, mostly. I'm used to a level of constant background noise from London, but New York takes it to another level with the constant horns. And I can deal with people, but not in quite those numbers. I get cranky. (Not in the least because the average person sees me and decides that being smaller, clearly I will move out of their way. I'll duck and weave for a little while, but after a certain point, I just start setting my shoulder and marching on. If someone gets body checked unexpectedly, well, that's their problem.) Also, I like being able to see the sky. You don't get that much in NY.

Sometimes I wish I were smaller - easier to dodge all the tourons.

Sky blue sky - I couldn't agree more. Fortunately, my apartments have all been on low rise blocks; the current one is in a 5-story building with trees behind it. Aside from the rare emergency sirens going by on the nearby avenue, it's almost peaceful there.

Be nice. I was a tourist yesterday. I might have been one of the ones you're dodging.

Okay, okay, I'll try to be nice. :-)

And judging by a couple of the pictures, I may have dodged you. I work in a building on 5th Ave just up from Rockefeller Center (above the Juicy Couture store, if you made it this far).

We may well have walked past it, but I probably wouldn't have noticed Juicy Couture unless it jumped out and bit me.

That damn store just about does, and for all the wrong reasons.
