Even though our politics are very similar, I have a feeling you may not agree with me when I tell you this link is one of the best things I've read about this year's big election and all the posturing from candidates, media and voter/bloggers. I'm hardly an idealist. But the problem with the "center/moderate" is that the American media has no idea what the center looks like, much less the difference between compromise and capitulation. (And, apparently, neither do a lot of the Dem leadership.) They also don't understand the role of the fringes in determining the center.
