i had to go to sainsburys new cross to get oreos for the cookies & cream, sainsburys lewisham doesn't stock them. the oreos in new cross were 59p for the package that was £1.45 in the student union. this reminds me why i quit buying things at the su in the first place.
however. the dilemma comes about where to shop in general now. it's slightly farther to cycle to new cross (and involves going up vicar's hill, which i should not have attempted in the gear i normally cycle in) but the new cross store is bigger, has a larger selection, and more importantly, a better selection from what i could see. so now i'm terribly tempted to start shopping there and at the market in lewisham centre (where fruit tends to be cheaper than it is in the sainsburys right inside-i got two boxes of strawberries in the market for the price of one in sainsburys) and avoid the lewisham sainsbury's for everything except possibly milk. the longer cycle ride may be worth it.
