i'm a day late and a dollar short
Mar. 21st, 2007 01:48 pmbut this was an awesome anti-war protest. we need more out of the box thinking like that. the war has to come home to these smug, self-absorbed, selfish bush acolytes before they will do anything about it. just listen to janet: "so they were intentionally getting in people's way. i don't think that people have lost touch or forgotten [about the war]. i don't think this is the way to get people to connect." translation: how fucking dare they inconvenience me?
the inconvenience is exactly the point of this protest: the people of iraq can't react like janet red voter. they don't have a choice about putting up with the inconvenience of us military patrols. the difference, of course, is that the inconvenience can be deadly to the people of iraq. the us military patrols in iraq have real weapons, not imaginary ones. the bullets are real. the danger is real. the death is real.
