i lost my keys on the way to college this morning. house, office, bike lock, all of them. pretty sure they popped out of my bag here in greenwich. i heard a noise that sounded like falling keys, checked that my bag was still closed, and continued on my way to qm, figuring must have been someone else's keys. i mean, it's a busy intersection, and you would think as many people as were there, someone would have yelled "hey, you dropped your keys" or something. guess not. got to college and found i had no keys. bike all the way back home, keeping an eye out for keys the whole way. no keys. got downstairs to open the front door for me, no keys in my door. pretty sure the door's locked from the outside, so doubt i somehow left them in the flat. bike back to greenwich. wait 20 minutes at the police station to report my lost keys. the officer at the desk says that if someone's picked them up, they do usually turn them in. i can only hope, because they're not still there. my mobile has gone dead, so even if the keys are turned in to the police, i may not find out about it in a timely fashion.

in the meantime, i am locked out, as my landlord is not sure he has all three keys i would need to get back in. (on the bright side, i have a towel.)

universe, i surrender. you win.
now can someone please let me know whether or not i will be able to get into my flat tonight? it's hot as balls in this office and i have run out of cold water.

i will be able to get into my flat tonight. landlord will come by with the spare keys. so now i just have to keep my fingers crossed that my keys are turned into the police at some point. otherwise i'm sure i will have to pay for replacement keys for the flat, office, and lab. hopefully i will not have to pay for the locks to be changed, as there was no id or anything on the keys to indicate who/where they belong to. so now all i have to do is hang out for a bit until a reasonable time to bike back to the flat. if i had anything worth reading, i'd go sit down in the park, it's around 90 here in the office.

landlord brought the wrong key. right keyring, the other two keys were right, just not the crucial one needed to unlock the door to the flat. so i'm off to kate's. (stopped by the office to get my towel and shower things. and clothes i haven't been biking in all day.) my mobile is completely dead to the point of will not even blink when i turn it on. i got three bugs in my eye on the way here, had to carry my bike down and back up the stairs at the greenwich foot tunnel, and bike past all the idiot suits at canary wharf having a drink at the pubs/restaurants along the river.

i am not getting out of bed next thursday. i may just sleep the whole day.
