happy saturday
Feb. 19th, 2005 04:51 pmwent over to kew to see the orchids. it was a tiny bit of a dissapointment. the orchids looked great, but it was primarily phalaenopsis and almost nothing lauren and i haven't seen before. it was impressive from an aesthetic standpoint, though. i then ended up giving advice in the shop about what orchids were good for beginners. (look like you know what you're doing and people assume you work there.) i ended up getting a flask of c. tenuis, we'll see what comes of it. there were no pictures, so i ended up picking between that and a laelia gouldiana alba with no idea what either one looked like. now that i've seen pictures, i'm not sorry i got the cattleya, but if i'd known what they looked like, i probably would have picked the laelia. we'll see if there are still laelia flasks when i go again on 4 march for the nursery tour.
came home to a fixed and working washing machine, so i'm doing my long overdue laundry. clean clothes, yay!
the landlord also took away some things that belong to the flat that i don't use (silverware, etc) that have been taking up space under the sink, so i will now have a bit more storage space.
